Congress leader Pawan Khera on Monday strongly condemned the government’s silence over the attack on Chief Justice of India BR Gavai, questioning whether the Prime Minister’s silence indicates tacit approval of the attack.

“The Chief Justice of the country was attacked in broad daylight in court, hours have passed, but not a single reaction has come from the country’s Prime Minister or Home Minister,” Khera said in a post on X. “Otherwise, the Prime Minister tweets even when a player gets a scratch on their finger. Does this silence of his indicate tacit approval of the attack?”

This isn’t the first time Khera has criticized PM Modi’s silence on important issues. Previously, Khera slammed the PM for not speaking out on the US imposing tariffs, saying, “The biggest concern is the Prime Minister’s silence. The US is openly mocking our country, our stock market, our economy, and the Prime Minister is silent.”
The attack on CJI Gavai has sparked widespread condemnation from leaders across the political spectrum. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge described the incident as “unprecedented, shameful, and abhorrent,” while Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also strongly condemned the attack.
